Your Opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager – Human Resources, the Manager - Learning & Development will be responsible to drive the L&D Function within the business, as well as Primero’s collective employee engagement, talent management and development programs aligned to the Learning and Development Strategy. This is a critical role within the Business to support our organisational growth, empower leaders, shape the development of our people and inspire a culture of excellence.
This role is full of variety and provides an opportunity to make a tangible difference, maximise employee engagement, work with leaders to create leadership capacity by building leadership capability, assisting with talent management cycles, building learning pathways for employees, and identifying and creating solutions for our key programs of work, including the Primero safe, respectful and inclusive workforce program.
This is a permanent full time position, with workplace flexibility. Based in Osborne Park, there will be some requirement to travel between our locations of Osborne Park, Perth City and Bunbury, a valid driver’s licence is required.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing training programs that are aligned with company objectives, annual budgets and project plans.
- Building the capacity of the Learning and Development function within the business and working towards building a culture of continuous learning.
- Working closely with senior management on strategies to build the capability and expertise of the workforce.
- Lead Primero Development Programs; including Leadership, Supervisory, Graduate and Apprentice training programs.
- Track budgets, negotiate contracts, and build and maintain relationships with third-party training providers.
- Work closely with Primero management to ensure a full understanding of various business units and their specific training requirements.
- Management of a small team of Learning and Development professionals.
- Manage Training and Development reporting requirements, including monitoring effectiveness of internal and external training.
What you ‘Can do’
- Relevant Tertiary Qualifications (desired).
- Previous experience within the Mining and Construction Sector
- Strong, demonstrated experience in a similar position.
- A hands-on delivery focussed mindset.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing employee development programs.
- Ability to design and produce relevant training materials.
- Ability to communicate effectively and engage with employees.
- Advanced Computer Skills.
- Ability to drive efficient, best for business outcomes.
