Your Opportunity
Primero are seeking a motivated, proactive, and experienced individual to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in resource, EPC, and/or contracting industries, experience in construction revenue accounting, project accounting and management reporting capabilities, with the ability to navigate through ERP systems or related systems and data.
Your Key Responsibilities
- End of Month Coordination: End-of-month process for Primero Finance.
- Prepare management reports, including Financial Results and various Business Review Packs.
- Support preparation of budgets and forecasts and fulfill ongoing reporting and variance analysis requirements.
- Manage cash flow, including forecasting, actuals reporting, and coordination of debtors and creditors with accounts.
- Balance sheet reconciliation, justification, reviews and provide guidance to business on requirements.
- Support consolidated financial reporting to the group and within Primero, including any required eliminations.
- Process various journals, including project, recovery, and general ledger journals.
- Provide finance leadership in the absence of the Finance Manager and support the finance team.
- Provide project accounting support as required.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to achieve required outcomes.
- Write finance procedures, policies, and papers.
- Identify opportunities for system and process improvement.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other duties as required by the Manager Finance.
Education and Experience:
- CA or CPA Qualified
- Experienced in resource engineering and construction industry or prior experiences with similar companies to Primero or NRW Group is required.
- Strong knowledge of Australian financial regulations and standards
- Understanding of project revenue and cost recognition terms that are relevant to the industry.
- Ability to work autonomously and as a strong team contributor.
- Advanced analytical skills and advanced Microsoft skills, particular Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively exercise initiative and discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
